„Initiative of the Three Seas” Summit – 2018

Petru Schipor Chairman and CEO Ekkou VP participated in the first edition of the Business Forum, held during the third edition of the „Initiative of the Three Seas” Summit organized by the Presidential Administration and CCIR in cooperation with the National School of Political Studies and Administrative and Atlantic Council of the United States under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, September 17-18 in Bucharest.
The event was attended by the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, together with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mihai Daraban, the hosts of this event, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Mrs. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, and the President of the Republic of Austria, Mr. Alexander Van der Bellen, as well as the chairmen of the National Chambers of Commerce, from partner countries within the Initiative, other EU Member States, the United States of America, the Western Balkans, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, representatives of the European Commission and European and international financial institutions.
The objective of the Forum was to stimulate business and investment initiatives in the region, debate the implementation of priority projects, and also address potential growth and innovation factors such as IMM, young entrepreneurship.
President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, said: „The idea of setting up the Three Seas Initiative started from the very point of finding a gap in economic development between the old and new Member States of the European Union and the desire to mitigate it.
The initiative acts concurrently in three main directions – economic development, European cohesion and strengthening transatlantic ties.
A good way to recover the economic development gap between the old and new Member States of the Union is to increase interconnectivity in the three seas, primarily in the fields of energy, transport and digital, especially in the North-South but not only.
I firmly believe that the instruments created with the Bucharest Summit will bring value to this informal platform that will now have concrete tools to achieve its goals. ”
In the framework of the Business Forum, the National Chambers of Commerce in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania and Romania signed a cooperation document to ensure the development of trade relations and to stimulate business initiatives and investments in the three seas.
The agreement between the Chambers of Commerce envisages the exchange of information on their companies, their solvency and creditworthiness and the dissemination of business opportunities.
The Business Forum of the Three Seas Initiative proposes economic development in three main areas (transport, energy, digital) in order to create an area of stability and progress.
At the same time, it is intended to establish a new cooperation policy between the countries located at the eastern border of the EU, which will lead to economic zonal growth and will help to reduce the economic disparities within the European Union.
The Baltic, Adriatic and Black Sea Initiative – brings together 12 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Petru Schipor Presedinte și CEO Ekkou VP a participat la prima ediție a Forumului de Afaceri, desfășurat în cadrul celei de-a treia ediții a Summitului „Inițiativa celor Trei Mări”, organizat de Administrația Prezidențială și CCIR în cooperare cu Școala Națională de Studii Politice și Administrative și Consiliul Atlantic al Statelor Unite, sub Înaltul Patronaj al Președintelui României, in perioada 17-18 septembrie, la Bucuresti.
La eveniment au participat Președintele României, dl. Klaus Iohannis, alături de Președintele Camerei de Comerț și Industrie, dl. Mihai Daraban, care au fost gazdele acestui eveniment, Președintele Republicii Croația, doamna Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Președintele Republicii Polone, domnul Andrzej Duda, și Președintele Republicii Austria, domnul Alexander Van der Bellen, precum și președinți de Camere de Comerț Naționale, oficiali guvernamentali din statele partenere în cadrul Iniţiativei, din celelalte state membre UE, din Statele Unite ale Americii, din Balcanii de Vest, Republica Moldova, Ucraina şi Georgia, reprezentanţi ai Comisiei Europene şi ai instituţiilor financiare europene şi international.
Obiectivul Forumului a fost să stimuleze inițiativele de afaceri şi investițiile în regiune, să dezbată implementarea proiectelor prioritare, dar și să abordeze factorii potențiali de creștere și inovare, cum ar fi IMM-urile, antreprenoriatul tânăr.
Președintele României, dl. Klaus Iohannis, a declarat: „Ideea înființării Inițiativei celor Trei Mări a pornit tocmai de la constatarea menținerii unui decalaj de dezvoltare economică între vechile și noile state membre ale Uniunii Europene și de la dorința de atenuare a acestuia. Inițiativa acționează concomitent în trei direcții principale – dezvoltarea economică, coeziunea europeană și consolidarea legăturilor transatlantice. O bună cale pentru recuperarea decalajului de dezvoltare economică între vechile și noile state membre ale Uniunii este creșterea interconectivității în regiunea celor trei mări, în primul rând în domeniile energiei, transportului și digital, în special pe axa Nord-Sud, dar nu numai. Cred cu tărie că instrumentele create odată cu Summitul celor Trei Mări de la București vor aduce valoare acestei platforme informale, care acum va dispune de instrumente concrete pentru atingerea obiectivelor sale.”
În cadrul Forumul de Afaceri, Camerele de Comerț Naționale din Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croația, Ungaria, Polonia, Lituania și România au semnat un document de colaborare care să asigure dezvoltarea relațiilor comerciale și să stimuleze iniţiativele de afaceri şi investiţiile în regiunea celor trei mări. Acordul dintre Camerele de Comerț are în vedere schimbul de informații referitor la societățile comerciale, solvabilitatea și bonitatea lor și diseminarea oportunităților de afaceri.
Forumul de Afaceri al Iniţiativei celor Trei Mări propune dezvoltarea economică în trei domenii principale (transport, energie, digital), în scopul creerii unei zone de stabilitate si progres. Totodată, se urmărește stabilirea unei noi politici de cooperare între țările situate la granița de est a UE, care va conduce la o creștere economică zonală și va contribui la reducerea decalajelor economice în cadrul Uniunii Europene.
Iniţiativa celor Trei Mări – Marea Baltică, Adriatică şi Marea Neagră – reuneşte 12 ţări: Austria, Bulgaria, Croaţia, Cehia, Estonia, Ungaria, Lituania, Letonia, Polonia, România, Slovacia şi Slovenia.
